Stepping upto 1850m at just her third career start was never going to be an issue for Cottenham- a well-bred daughter of Redoute's Choice. Sporting Think Big Stud's Black and White Check silks, with the yellow sleeves- the three year old filly ventured to Newcastle on Saturday and was suited by the set-weight conditions. She settled worse than mid-field from barrier 7 in the field of 8 runners and the solid tempo allowed her to travel well throughout the first-half of the race. When asked to pick-up at the 600m from jockey Mitchell Bell, Cottenham responded with a grinding finish down the outside to defeat her rivals by 1.1L

"She's a progressive staying filly and it's great to get the win for her owners" commented John after the win.

Congratulations to Think Big Stud, Mr J A Hayek, Westcode Pty Ltd, Mr D C Hall AM
