Galway Girl Dominates On Speed
Segenhoe Stud’s bred and raced 3YO filly Galway Girl adopted front running tactics to break her maiden at Newcastle on October 16th aided by a well-judged ride from jockey in form Tim Clark. The filly, who has having her first crack over mile was too strong for he rivals and fought on bravely to defeat them by a long-neck. Galway Girl showed good natural progression this preparation following a sound debut on September 14th when finishing fifth over 1200m before a bob of the head kept her from breaking her maiden at her second start at Newcastle over 1400m on September 29th.
“She’s a lovely filly who continues to step up to the task and take nice improvement from each and every run. She’s done a good job this prep and we’ll likely give her a run at a mid-week metro meeting before sending her for a well-earned rest” commented John O’Shea following the win.
