Following a string of placings this preparation, three year old filly Pop Girl made her way to the winner's circle at Wyong on Thursday at her sixth career start. Tackling the mile for the first time, Pop Girl jumped cleanly from barrier 5 and settled just behind the leader before travelling strongly around the home turn, defeating her rivals by 3.75 lengths in dominant fashion. The writing was on the wall last start, following a second placing at Cantebrury over 1550m when narrowly beaten by Altair.

"That was a strong win, I was easy on her over the concluding stages but it was good to get her maiden out of the way and she'll take confidence from that" commented jockey Brenton Avdulla after the win.

Pop Girl will now have a short break with the Queensland winter carnival in mind for the 3YO fillies staying feature races.

Congratulations to Werrett Bloodstock.
