Quantico headed to Eagle Farm on Saturday in search of a good track and got up in the final strides to gather a deadheat win. He is now 2/2 this preparation and 3 wins from 5 starts in his career.

After a promising first up effort at Newcastle, Quantico headed into Saturday's race over 1200m as a $2.20 favourite. Rider Andrew Mallyon settled him in a nice spot just worse than midfield. The pace slackened mid-race and there was a few anxious moments as he had to wait for a run in the final 400m. He finally got to the outside and got up late to deadheat for first place. It was a good effort for Quantico to run them down and he would have been an unlucky loser.

With not many options for Quantico in the near future, he will head off to the Emeran Park for a 2 week freshen up ahead of some targets throughout the spring.
