It was a dream start to the year for the team as we landed a treble on New Years Day at the home track Randwick.

With 3 live chances heading into the day we were expecting a bold showing, however for all 3 to win exceeded everyones expectations.

The day started off with Killer Instinct in the BM70 1800m. Sent off a warm favourite after a promising recent effort over 1550m at Randwick, she stepped up well to favoured distance putting in a confortable performance. Stable apprentice Billy Owen continued his good association with the Mare settling her into a beautiful position mid race and putting the race to bed at the 300m to score by 1.5L. Killer Instinct is now 4 wins for her last 5 starts, progressing through the grades quickly and could find herself in some nice races going forward. She was a $320k purchase by Solis/Litt from Arrowfield at the Easter Inglis Sales in 2017. Well Done to American Owners L N J Foxwoods & Champion Thoroughbreds who manage the mare.

Private Thoughts was the next to score in the F&M BM64 1000m contest for stable syndicator Champion Thoroughbreds. Private Thoughts was engaged to run the day before at Gosford, however the abandonment due to heat played in our favour and in the process picked up a valuable Metropolitan winner for the well bred daughter of Snitzel. From a wide barrier, jockey Rachel King gave her a peach of a ride and the filly showed great tenacity to see off the challenge of L'cosmo late on. Well done to owners Champion Thoroughbreds, Nearco Stud Ltd, Mrs S G Casson, Mr D R Casson, Mrs S Harris, Mr M Voulgaris, Mr J O'Mahoney, Mr M J Scheele, Mr G Seto, Mr K Osswald, Mr S L Curran, Mr A J Luciano, Mr J N Allen

The last of the Treble was Twentyfour Carat who bounced back to form scoring in impressive fashion under a great ride from Nash Rawiller. Drawn the outside gate in barrier 10, Nash managed to get Twentyfour Carat in a lovely position one off the rail and had him settled beautifully. Straightening up for home the result never looked in danger with the colt drawing clear to win handsomely. The son of I Am Invincible has always shown a lot of potential throughout his career and it was good to see him execute his race in a professional manner. There looks to be a lot more to come from him. Congratulations to owners Domeland Pty Ltd.
