Southern Lad got the day off to a good start scoring in the BM94 1200m race under the guidance of UK import Tom Marquand. Its been a frustrating preparation for Southern Lad with bad barriers not helping the situation, however after two great first up efforts he was on the scoresheet this time winning by 1 length. Southern Lad's professionalism has improved no end this preparation with his barrier speed and ability to settle during the race taking a big step forward. He will be aimed at the Carrington Stakes over 1400m at Randwick on the 25/01. Well done to his connections Champion Thoroughbreds, Mr J N Allen, Mperezive, Mr G C Green, Mrs J S Willis, Mr B Quinlan, Mr J A Denny, Mr S Bunt, Mr S Thatcher, Mr D H Long, Mr G R Tomlinson, Mr R M Farrar, Tab Rewards.

Rocha Clock was next to win as she capped off a wonderful first racing preparation taking her tally to 3 wins from 4 runs. Rocha Clock has never been the easiest but her last two runs have shown how much she has matured and  improved over the prep. She is clearly a filly with a huge amount of ability as her record shows. Her win on Saturday was deeply impressive as she showed her greeness on the bend but still managed to draw clear to win by a commanding 2.3 lengths. She has headed to the paddock for a well deserved holiday and will be aimed at bigger targets through the winter months. Well done to owner Jason Abrahams.

Merlinite capped off the day in good fashion at Kembla Grange scoring over the 2000m with Tom Sherry aboard. A progressive staying mare, Merlinite has improved plenty for each step up in trip this preparation and looks certain to stay further. From barrier 14 she stepped slowly making it hard for herself. Travelling 3 wide without cover the majority of the trip but still kicked clear to win by 2.3 lengths. All things considered it was a big performance from the mare who looks like she will make a big impact at Metropolitan level. It was Tom Sherry's first winner for the stable having been knocking on the door in recent weeks. He is a hugely talented rider who we will continue to support and has a big future ahead of him. Well done to Domeland Pty Ltd.
