Intrepidacious Courageous On Debut
2YO filly Intrepidacious proved too strong for her rivals on debut at Canterbury’s first night meeting for the season on October 26th. The youngster who had just the one trial heading into the race, utilised her brilliant gate speed to lead throughout and gave an almighty kick to win easily by 2.8L over the 1100m defeating Ready’s Girl & Chia.

“That was a very good win, she is still raw and doesn’t quite know what it’s about yet but she has very nice ability” commented jockey Tye Angland after piloting her to the winner’s circle. Intrepidacious gave her sire Shooting To Win his very first winner which held some sentiment for John O’Shea “It’s great to get his first winner, I purchased him as a yearling and never got to train him as I went to Godolphin soon after”.
Intrepidacious has been sent for a well deserved break and will be aimed for the 2YO races over the autumn carnival.
She was purchased from this year’s Magic Millions yearling sale for $180,000 from the Yarraman Park Stud draft by Randwick Bloodstock/ Mystery Downs and is raced by Mrs Christine Cook & Mrs Lorraine Holt. She is the first foal out of the unraced mare Courageous Kitty who is out of Group 1 winner Rostova.
