Diamil (IRE) dashed away from a strong midweek field to register his first win from two starts in Australia at Warwick Farm on Wednesday over 1600m.
Piloted by James McDonald the Awtaad (IRE) stallion put the field away with ease after travelling midfield in run, with the race running the 2nd fastest official last 600m sectional on the card. His little-known sire Awtaad (IRE) notched a double on the program with Waterford (IRE) winning earlier on in the day.
The horse will be allowed to continue through his grades with a race over 1550m at Canterbury in a fortnight his most likely target.
