The 2023 version of the Group 3 JRA Plate turned it a battle of the toughest, with Diamil (IRE) eventually coming out on top. With a frantic pace being set throughout the early and middle stages, the ten furlong event became a true test of staying ability. The son of Awtaad (IRE) locked horns with rival, Bankers Choice, down the Randwick straight eventually gaining the upper hand in the final stages.
This is the third stakes victory for the five-year-old import adding to his Group 3 Summer Cup and Queensland Listed Members Handicap. The Irish international will now be aimed toward the winter Queensland carnival with the Group 2 Hollindale being the likely kick off point, with a possible progression to the Doomben Cup and Q22.
