Our Hawkesbury base has proved its worth yet again with Duke of Gordon saluting the judge at Wyong last Thursday.
Trained out of Glenn Haven at Clarendon, the Dissident gelding has enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and was rewarded with a win after putting his hoof on the till in his first two runs this preparation.
William Pike also rode his first winner for the stable, getting The Duke to the middle of the sodden Wyong track in the straight. He looks a middle distance horse on the rise and he will likely return to the track and trip to contest a Class 1 over 1600m on the 28th of April as his next target.
