Gold Coast Broodmare Sale Entries

John O’Shea Racing has three very exciting entries in this year’s Magic Millions Mares sale, all being sold with racing upside along with residual value for life in the barn. With two being by the current fourteenth seed on the broodmare sire table Sebring and the other a listed winner by quickly emerging young broodmare sire Savabeel.

The first to go through the auction ring is lot 413, Avebury, the stakes winning daughter of eight-time New Zealand Champion sire Savabeel, and full sister to the Group 1 placed Paternal, who was exported to Hong Kong as an early season four-year-old. The mare is a three time winner, including the Listed Canberra Guineas as a three-year-old before a metropolitan victory by over 2 lengths early in her four-year-old season. The talented four-year-old is in full training with the intention of running on the at Doomben on the 25th of May.

As a broodmare sire Savabeel is still relatively young, however this season alone he is striking at 43% winners to runners with five of those at stakes level including our very own Good Banter taking out the G3 Adiran Knox.

The next mare to go under the hammer is the first of our two daughters of Sebring to sell, Condrieu. She is a two time winner and six time placegetter with three of those at metropolitan level, a talented six-year-old who has been undoubtedly unlucky not to have added more victories to her record. The mare hails from the talented Jehannedarc (Montjeu), who was a two time winner to go along with three placings at stakes level, including finishing in front of the eventual Group 1 winning Estimate when second in the G3 Lillie Langtry Stakes. As a dam sire Sebring is top class, with 111 individual winners this season to go along with four at stakes level, including G1 Caulfield Guineas winner Griff (Trapeze Artist) hailing from a Sebring mare.

Condrieu last ran at Randwick-Kensington on the 15th of May when finishing second and is being sold with genuine racing upside whilst being a very attractive breeding proposition.

Our final mare to sell is Speak Up (Sebring), the metropolitan winning four-year-old is the second foal out of the multiple stakes placed Belle De Coeur (Show A Heart) , and is from the same family as five-time stakes winner Flying Babe. The striking mare recorded three straight victories, before being beaten just 1.5L in the Listed Daybreak Lover Stakes over 1400m as well being desperately unlucky in the G3 Tibbie at Newcastle behind subsequent $1,000,000 mare Banana Queen. Again she is by proven broodmare sire, Sebring, which can only give buyers further confidence for her life in the barn.

Speak Up has been spelling since her most recent run at Eagle Farm in February and has completed a full sales preparation with Newington Farm.
