Talented Hellbent gelding Hell I Am returned to the scene of his maiden victory on Wednesday and delivered a repeat dose under the patient urgings of William Pike.
After a creditable run in Saturday grade behind the subsequently stakes-placed Troach, he appreciated the drop back in grade to record his second win from 3 starts as a gelding. Camped off what was a hot early tempo, when brought to the middle of the track Hell I Am let loose with a withering turn of speed to put the race away in a matter of strides.
The gelding operation at the end of his previous preparation has seemed to work wonders, with his race day manners vastly improved and resulting in some dominant victories this preparation.
