It’s been an outstanding start to the new season for the freshly formed partnership of John O’Shea and Tom Charlton. The stable has had twenty-two runners since August 1st resulting in seven winners and seven minor placings, striking at a runners to winners ratio of 31.8% and a top four percentage of 77%.
The most notable victory comes in the form of the G2 Missile Stakes at Randwick with Schwarz (Zoustar x Summer Sham) taking out the 1200m event. This now makes him the most successful entire by Zoustar in terms of individual stakes wins. Moving forward he will now look to target the G2 Theo Marks over 1300m with the intention of contesting Group 1 races deeper into the Spring.
Not to be out, the ever consistent Awesome Wonder took out the 2400m staying feature on the very same day. This was on the back of a string of luckless outings and thanks to a gun ride by apprentice Jett Stanley. The following Wednesday was backed up by another Metropolitan double, with the progressive Yorkshire winning decisively on the Kensington circuit along with stable newcomer Jamberoo relishing the heavy conditions.
In addition to metropolitan success is a recent Saturday provincial tremble at Kembla Grange. With progressive lightly raced types stepping out and learning their craft on the run. Both Kenmare Bay and Komodo Dragon broke their maidens in what were impressive performances, along with middle distance mare Aunty Rene making it career win number two, showing a sharp turn of foot to score.
Big congratulations and thanks to all our loyal owners who continue to support us, we are looking forward to an exciting spring.
