The capacity field of 24 nervously awaited the starter’s gun.
Months of preparation had come to this.
The conditions at the magnificent NSW Golf Club were perfect – weather fine, track good.
The local knowledge of the NSW members held them in good stead, whilst it is fair to say that, as the day progressed, some of the non-members really got a good look at ALL of the famous course.
The leaderboard chopped and changed throughout the day, and despite much jostling for positions, the stewards were not required to intervene!
As the finishing line loomed large, it was the team including Chris Roots, Darren Kain & Matt Thompson who strode clear to win in a photo finish. The fourth member of this championship team, Daniel Dickson, resplendent in his black & red attire, also won the award for best dressed!
Special mention to Hermione Fitzgerald, Chris Belsey and George Melick who were deserving of their individual accolades.
A fantastic day had by all.
