Jamie Kah mightn’t have been able to see where she was going but Diamil knew where the finishing line was at Eagle Farm on Saturday. In conditions more akin to his native Ireland, the Awtaad stallion was last in running but managed to weave his way through the field and notch his first stakes victory in the Listed Members’ Handicap (1600m).
The win capped an outstanding debut preparation in Australia with two wins and a number of unlucky runs. With spring plans currently being devised, he will spell in Queensland before coming back bigger and better later in the year.
