Lady Harlem Lays It Down To Rivals

Promising filly Lady Harlem got her maiden out of the way at Canterbury on Wednesday. Listed placed on debut at Moonee Valley, the filly was given a rail-hugging ride by a white-hot Reece Jones to secure a well deserved metropolitan victory.

Purchased from last year’s Inglis Easter Yearling sale by Richard Pegum in conjunction with Rick Connolly, she had been plagued earlier in her preparation by sodden tracks and unfavourable race shapes so today’s assignment presented a much kinder task as she was allowed to find the leaders back throughout the fun before squeezing up the fence when the race hotted up.

The win also edges Reece ever closer to Apprentice’s Title leader Tyler Schiller, with 9 wins to make up before the end of the season.

Lady Harlem will now likely have one more run before a decision is made on a potential spring campaign.

Congratulations to her owners: Mr R A Pegum, Mr P A Henry, Dr C G Lawler, Mr M D Sullivan
