Le Gai Soleil Shines Under Lights

The ownership group of Le Gai Soleil were happy as Larry on Saturday night after the home-bred mare secured her first black type victory under the urgings of the evergreen L V Cassidy.

Having been freshened through the autumn, the daughter of Tavistock had raced without conditions to suit at Scone and Eagle Farm, however arrived to a sodden Corbould Park track having drawn an outside barrier that allowed her to display her trademark turn of foot. She was last for the majority of the 1400m event before peeling to the extreme outstide and outgunning Dzsenifer in the final 100m.

The win was a deserved Listed victory for a mare whose record now reads 7 wins from 18 starts.

Raced by her breeders the Bax family in conjunction with a great group of owners, she now becomes even more valuable broodmare proposition being a half sister to multiple Group 1 winner DanzDanzDance (also raced by the Bax’s under their Bax Bloodstock banner).

Thanks must go to the Renita Beaton Racing team for looking after her on the Sunshine Coast as well.

Congratulations to her owners Mr W G Bax, Mrs H Bax, Mr S G Brewis-Weston, Mr B R Green, Mr K B Miller, Mr M Sixton, Mr R Kaveney.
