Lost And Running Off And Running

The stable started off the carnival in good fashion with Lost And Running and Le Gai Soleil both winning first up.

Lost And Running resumed in the Southern Cross Stakes over the 1200m. He took on a good looking field with a big weight of 61kg. Settling in behind the speed, Hugh pulled him out at the top of the straigth as he gave a big kick to win a comfortable 2 legnths. He looks to have gone to another level this preparation and will now head to the G1 Canterbury Stakes in 3 weeks time. Well done to his ownership group – Mr C E Holt, Mr L Petagna, Mr F W Cook, Mrs C M Cook, Mrs I O’Shea

Le Gai Soleil was resuming after a decent break from the Spring. She had come back in tremendous order and pleased in both her trials. Settled in rear off a good speed, McEvoy produced her at the top of the straight as she ran away for a facile victory. Hopefully this mare can really go on with things now and she looks well placed in the Aspiration G3 1600m in 3 weeks time. Well done to owners – Mr W G Bax, Mrs H Bax, Mr S G Brewis-Weston, Mr B R Green, Mr K B Miller, Mr M Sixton, Mr R Kaveney
