Promise of Success (GB) delivered on her potential in a big way when saluting at Monday’s postponed Tancred Stakes meeting, winning the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes over 1600m.
Purchased by Hannah Wall in conjunction with Rosemount Stud and David Redvers, the imported mare made just 27,000 guineas at the 2020 Tattersalls December Mare sale after 4 runs as a maiden. Since coming to Australia she has made an immediate impact, winning 3 of her first 6 starts before a pair of stakes placings in the Group 3 Triscay & Group 2 Guy Walter.
Monday’s postponed Rosehill meeting at Newcastle was the setting for her biggest triumph to date however, fending off 8 opponents (all of whom were stakes winners) to claim her Group 2 triumph. With a valuable black type victory achieved, sights will now be set on the Group 1 Queen of the Turf Stakes on Day 2 of The Championships at Royal Randwick.
